Delete your Forgetless account

This page explains how to delete your account in Forgetless (Android: com.forgetless.app), the app by Gabriel Palmyro, and the data linked to it. You can do it in the app, or request it here without the app.

On this page

1. Delete it in the app

  1. Open Forgetless and tap the profile icon (the person, top right on Home).
  2. Open Settings and, under Account, tap Delete account.
  3. Check I understand this can’t be undone and tap Delete my account. If you signed in with Google, confirm with the same Google account.

The steps are the same on iPhone and Android, and you need an internet connection. Your server data is deleted right away; if anything fails, nothing is deleted and you can try again.

2. Request deletion without the app

Can’t open the app, or already uninstalled it? Send this form and we delete your account and its data by hand.

If you signed in with Google, use that Google account’s email. We write to this address to confirm and when it’s done.

Anything that helps us find your account. If you never signed in with Google, add your Google Play order ID for Forgetless (GPA.…) or your App Store receipt.

We may ask you to confirm the account is yours before deleting anything. We delete it within 30 days, usually much sooner, and email you when it’s done. If you never signed in with Google, your account is a guest ID that only lives in the app, so we can only find it through a Forgetless purchase receipt. You can also email support@getforgetless.com instead.

3. What gets deleted and what is kept

Deleted

  • Your account on our servers and your sign-in account (guest or Google) in Firebase.
  • The link between your account and your subscription, and any reviewer access.
  • Your registered devices and notification tokens.
  • Your monthly usage counts.
  • Your analytics profile in PostHog, with the events and session recordings linked to it.
  • Any links still being processed, with their captions.
  • Any collections you shared, so their links stop working.
  • When you delete in the app: your library on that phone (saves, notes, collections, places and reminders). After a web request, what is on your phone stays there until you uninstall the app.

Kept

  • Purchase and subscription records kept by Google Play, Apple and Superwall under their own policies, and the copies of subscription events Superwall sent us, with no link to your account. We also keep transaction records the law requires.
  • Cost records (AI model, token counts and cost), with no link to you anymore.
  • Analytics events from before your account was identified, under a random ID with no link to you, until they expire.
  • Cached content of public posts, which was never linked to you.
  • Server logs (never your email or your saves), until they expire within 90 days. We keep no database backups.
  • Your web request itself (email and message), only until it is handled. Then we delete it.

4. Cancel your subscription too

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Google Play and the App Store bill you, not us, so cancel it there to stop future charges:

  • Android: Google Play, then your profile icon, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, Forgetless, Cancel subscription.
  • iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Forgetless, Cancel Subscription.

5. Delete some data, keep your account

You can delete individual saves, notes and collections at any time in the app. To delete only your analytics data, or for any other request, email support@getforgetless.com. More details are in our Privacy Policy.
